Lollapalooza 2010 Tickets are on sale, the rumored artists include Lady GaGa, Green Day, and Soundgarden. More to be added soon as the official announcement will take place in April. Last years event had the total number of artists over one hundred performers on the two stages not including all the side events that happen so list will be sure to grow. The tickets on sale are the three day tickets at $190 at the event’s website. The Chicago music celebration kicks off a national concert journey that some people follow from state to state.  Maybe in the mean time, you can go to one of Wiz Khalifa’s concerts.

Some say ticket buyers are operating on blind faith or have gone gaga over the thought of GaGa, but backing up the history of the event, proof positive an early purchase will not leave you disappointed.

Lady GaGa has been constantly in the press with her antics and appearance surprising and seducing and offending many, choose the one that fits you. Donny Osmond is the latest of critics for her prison video claiming it is offensive and detrimental to children if she is a role model. Now where has Donny’s comments been when it comes to violent videos that contain guns, killing, raping, abuse, and all around just smut in music video. Why does a woman on woman kiss rock his robin, when there are other things that should have been rockin’ his robin all along? Essence Music Festival 2010, July 2-4

Get ready cause here it comes, the Essence Music Festival 2010 in New Orleans Superdome for July 2-4 has ticket on sale now. Superstars Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, and Mary J. Bildge are just some of the dozens of dynamic artists to take stage. The super-event is a 3-day concert and convention experience that will be life changing for all in attendance.

 Currently only 3-day tickets are on sale. Platinum VIP tickets include performer and celebrity parties, center stage seating and VIP passes to Platinum VIP Club that includes a buffet and complementary bar service. You also will have the VIP parking pass commemorative ESSENCE Music Festival 2010 T-shirt and a Complementary yearlong subscription to ESSENCE Magazine. Empowerment Seminars that will be taking place throughout the weekend will have a seat with your name on it.  Celebrating the musical event in New Orleans is a tribute to all the great American Music and Musicians that began their careers in this great city. Badu Strips

Well, it was reported yesterday that Erykah Badu strips for her new music video.  The striptease act was part of her video for the new song, “Window Seat”.  The video opens up with her slowly walking down the street in Dallas, right near where Pres. Kennedy was assassinated.  Supposedly, it was filmed very quickly and took many of those that were nearby by surprise.

 As Erykah Badu strips, a shot rings out and she collapsed to the ground.  The vocalist acknowledged that there were people yelling to her about it being a public place, you should be ashamed of yourself and put your clothes back on.  But that did not seem to affect her in any way.  She simply kept her head up and kept on going.  She said on her Twitter page that, “I been naked all along in my words, actions and deed. That’s the real vulnerable place.”

 The whole point as Badu strips is to show people that they are quick to dismiss anything that they may not understand.  There was her way of showing how people need to become more individualized.  This shows in her style of music as she combines her R&B with a Jazz mix.  She is calling herself the Queen of neo-soul and that is extremely reflective in her music.  Another up-and-coming hip-hop/rap artist, Wiz Khalifa has also learned how to combine many different sounds to create his unique mix tapes.  Luckily for Badu, no one filed any kind of indecency charges.

Dorrell Wright Apologizes

The Miami Heat forward, Dorell Wright apologizes for photos that he said he was embarrassed by.  The explicit photos of Dorell Wright were posted all over the Internet and were split the plea taken in a private video chat in 2009.  They have also shown up in twitter pages as well as a variety websites.  He said he truly regretted doing it and has apologized.  The Miami Heat has made no comment on this particular situation.

 Wright apologizes for photos and will probably also be apologizing for his behavior.  Earlier in March when he was arrested for driving under the influence, while having a suspended license the team did suspend him for two games.  He has played in 64 games this season and is averaging 6.4 points. Probably because he is so many other things that he has to worry about.  It just does not seem like many of these athletes are thinking when they forget that they are public figures and people recognize them, especially on the web.

 Now that Wright apologizes for the photos, maybe he can start playing some basketball as the NBA winds down its season and Miami needs everything it can get in order to make a run.  The news is been filled with so many professional athletes getting caught in something.  Between Woods, Arenas, Wright, and of course don’t forget Big Ben from the Pittsburgh Steelers that could still be facing sexual assault charges. Ricky Martin Comes Out

After years of denying his sexuality, Ricky Martin has finally come out of the closet. The announcement has surprised many long time fans but to many other fans was not a surprise at all. Ricky hit his peak of popularity as the Latin American pop star and sex symbol and had the hearts of many. Fear of losing his career and status, on the advice of many close associates to keep his sexuality to himself left him for years hiding his identity behind the ‘La Vida Loca’. 

The birth of his twins and the writing of his memoirs has spawned his “truth outing” on his website that is available in Spanish and English. With a near miss outing in the year 2000 in interview with Barbara Walters as she pressured him into admitting he was gay or straight, his career seemed to slow after that. Today Walters admits she regrets pressuring his about his sexuality.  

The birth of his twin sons, with surrogate mother has given him newfound sense of pride and strength. Martin says his decision will help not to “indirectly diminish the glow that my kids here born with.”  Who knows with his birth of children and being out and proud, we may also see a rebirth of Ricky and ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ 

With the memoirs and children, what will be next for Ricky? In the posting on his website today “Writing this is a solid step towards my inner peace and vital part of my evolution,” what will that evolution be? Many people speculate politics may be in the future. Martin is 38 and honestly we have had many more come back singers older than that, I guess we have to wait for the end of the story; the memoirs are still being completed.
