Wiz Khalifa is an up and coming rapper/hip hop artist that is becoming more and more popular. Rolling Stones magazines as well as other magazines have noted that he is an artist to watch, one that is going places and gathering a larger fan base by the day. Wiz Khalifa was born to a military family and traveled a bit as a child. His stage name, Wiz Khalifa, is partly derived from the word ‘wisdom’ added to ‘Khalifa’, an Arabic word meaning ‘successor’.

It is quite impressive to see the high end brand names that are sponsoring this concert such as Nike Snowboarding and General. In fact, this concert is part of a range of events offered by Five Fab Friday Fiesta, an event that is being done by Snowboarding Magazine. Along with Wiz Khalifa, there is also the Living Legends/UnConscious concert being put on by a number of local companies, and the tickets are going for a little over $20.

Another event that is also slotted for this particular Friday night is the InkMonstr/SoGnar/Arnette Antics. They are pulling off a not so secret late night show, along with Del Tha Funky Homosapien. Yet another event that Snowboarding Magazine is pulling off is located at Coyote Ugly, also on the 29th of January – what is sure to be an unforgettable party. There are quite a few events planned, from an awesome party at Coyote Ugly, a must if you like good beer and the company of hot babes, to the Living Legends/UnConscious concert, which is being sponsored by several local companies in the area. You can get tickets for this for a little over $20 per ticket. There is also a concert featuring the up and coming rapper and hip hop star Wiz Khalifa. If you like good rap and hip hop music, then you are sure to like Wiz Khalifa. The Rolling Stones magazine highlighted him not to long ago as the ‘star to watch’ for the year. His music has been becoming a lot more popular recently and he is currently on tour around the United States. Wiz Khalifa is definitely not your run of the mill African American rapper. He traveled the world as a child while his father was serving in the United States military and he changed his name to Wiz Khalifa while he was in his teens. Khalifa is an Arabic name that means ‘successor’; Wiz is simply short for wisdom.

Wiz Khalifa already has a number of hit singles as well as hit albums, and most recently has even outsold other more famous rappers such as Jay-Z and 50 cent.

If you are a Wiz Khalifa fan and are interested in the Wiz Khalifa concert that Snowboarding Magazine is hosting as part of Five Fab Friday Fiesta, then you will find the venue below:

2027 West Colfax Avenue

More Shows With Wiz Khalifa

by admin on Jan.27, 2010, under K News

Wiz Khalifa is a rapper that has become increasing popular on the rap scene over the last several years. Born Cameron Jibril Thomaz, he grew up in a number of countries as his family traveled with his father, who was in the United States military. Cameron Thomaz took on the name Wiz Khalifa in his young teens; Wiz stands for wisdom, Khalifa is an Arabic name that means successor. Rolling Stones hailed him as a fine Hip Hop/Rap artist who is destined to go far in the music industry; indeed, it seems the prediction is already coming true. The details of Wiz Khalifa upcoming shows are listed in the paragraphs below.

Wiz Khalifa fans will be very pleased to know that he will be giving five concerts in February 2010. The first one is to be held on February 14th in Cleveland, Ohio, at The Grog Shop; the address for the venue is: 2785 Euclid Heights Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44106. Wiz Khalifa will be performing along with another fantastic artist, Machine Gun Kelly, although all Wiz Khalifa fans would have to agree that just a concert given only by him is awesome enough. An interesting note on the venue, the Grog shop: a grog shop is the name given a place where strong liquors are sold, but at this concert instead of getting intoxicated on alcohol fans of Wiz Khalifa are given the chance to get intoxicated on some out of this world hip hop and rap music.

The next concert that is on the list is scheduled for Feb. 24th in Cleveland. The Venue address is as follows:

Skully’s Music Diner

1151 North High Street

Columbus, OH 43201

This concert will feature the awesomely talented up and coming star Wiz Khalifa along with Poitier Pockets. It is sure to be a hit with all Wiz Khalifa fans. It should be noted, however, that this concert is marked as being for 18+; while this might be disheartening news if you are a younger fan of the Wiz, the good news is that there are yet more concerts coming up featuring Wiz Khalifa, in fact, starting even the next day, although at a different city.

The next stop on the schedule for Wiz Khalifa is Covington, Kentucky, on Feb. 25th, and the good news is that this show is open to fans of all ages to enjoy Wiz Khalifa alone as he shares the stage with no other performer. The Mad Hatter club is a trendy club and will likely be packed as Wiz Khalifa fans of all ages enjoy a fabulous evening listening to the finest of Hip Hop and Rap. The venue address is as follows:

Mad Hatter

620 Scott Street

Covington, KY 41011

This great show is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm and last for about an hour; after which the Mad Hatter club will feature another show for those who are interested in staying on at the club.

The next Wiz Khalifa show heads on up to the Northeastern United States as Wiz Khalifa bring great music to the Abbey Pub. Abbey Pub is one of those memorable places that has hosted a wide number of musical concerts by some of the best artists. It is a fantastic locale and not only will you get to enjoy great music with the Wiz, but you will get to enjoy the fantastic food and drinks that Abbey Pub has to offer. It is just about the most unbeatable combination you can ask for. The address for this hot concert is listed below:

Abbey Pub

3420 West Grace

Chicago, IL 60618

However, once again, we are forced to share a small piece of bad news for Wiz Khalifa fans that are under 18 years of age – this concert is not open to you, it is for 18 years on up. The price for those attending is listed at $15.

The last of Wiz Khalifa’s concerts scheduled for February is slotted for the 28th of February, this time in Madison, Wisconsin. Once again, we have a sad bit of news for underage fans of the Wiz – this concert is strictly 18 years on up. At $10 a ticket, it is cheaper than many of the other Wiz Khalifa concerts this month and the venue address is found below:

Regent Street Retreat

1206 Regent Street

Madison, WI

Just like at the last two concerts featuring Wiz Khalifa, he once again shares the stage with no other while he performs some of his hit singles. It is definitely a show you would not want to miss if you are a Khalifa fan.

One thing to take note of is that venues, dates and times can sometimes change so it does help to call ahead to make sure that the times and venues are still the same. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket for any of the above shows, you can either check the location and get on their website, or you can find tickets at www.eventmaster.com

Wiz Khalifa to Perform at Abbey Pub

by admin on Jan.20, 2010, under K News

On the 26th of February, 2010 Wiz Khalifa will be featured at the Abbey Pub in Chicago. Khalifa is set to perform at 8:30 pm Central with doors opening at 8:00 pm. Attendants must be at least 18 years of age. The price at the door is 18 dollars with tickets bought in advance going for 15 dollars.

Khalifa will perform a wide range of his hit music, ranging from his first hit single, Say Yeah, plus multiple tracks from his newest album, Deal or No Deal. The popular rapper who lived in multiple cities throughout his lifetime will call Chicago his home the night of the much anticipated performance. Fans are expected to pack the Abbey Pub during the Friday night special to hear the artist’s big hits and even some of his mix tape masterpieces.

Wiz Khalifa meshes a techno type style with both modern and classic hip hop touches. Some of his mix tape tracks feature samples from older rap artists’ beats. Newer tracks tend to focus on a powerful approach with harder hitting beats filled with lots of bass and synthesized additives. The February show in Chicago will contain a mix of Wiz Khalifa’s style and talents.

Khalifa understands and fully embraces the music industry. He started off unsigned, then partnered with Warner Bros, then switched back to the independent mode. The artist can be found in interviews discussing his views on music and the entire scene of hip hop. He has a humble approach to the entire system and believes that the spotlight will always be shared and switched between fellow hard working enthusiasts.

Wiz Khalifa recently released an interactive website that contains video and written updates. The site contains free downloadable content, including exclusive mix tape material not found in stores. The hip hop artist continues to release material for dedicated fans and venues searching for crowd pleasers.
