Tiger Woods at the Masters

Many people around the world have been tuning into the Masters. It is estimated that over 5 million people have watched just to catch glimpse of Tiger Woods return to the golf course. It is the most anticipated golf event anyhow and Tiger’s return to his native just that much bigger. The storyline of this particular tournament is filled with extramarital affairs, text messages that his proper wife got her hands on, the dramatic car accident and the public following every move since then.  Tiger also has an ad running with Nike that just keeps the controversy going. It is a commercial with him just standing there while his deceased father talks in the background and ends with discussing responsibility. It shot in black-and-white and many people either get it or they just do not get it. All these factors have led up to a huge public following, including many people that probably have never watched golf match before.

 Although sponsors walked away from Tiger, they will probably be knocking at his door, especially since he is also coming back with a vengeance. Maybe Wiz Khalifa can sponsor him. He is in third place and is only two shots back from the leader. His golf game looks great and seems to be holding up very well under the extreme pressures. Normally, people do not even watch the first and second rounds, but it looks as though many people tuned in. CBS predicts that this will be one of the biggest media events that we have seen for a long time. They have no clue how many fewer stable really get but it will be interesting.
