An up-and-coming rapper is perhaps Diggy Simmons , who is the son of Rev RUN of RUN DMC , and nephew of Def Jam founder Russel Simmons.  All of these family connections certainly paid off in that it looks like he has landed a record deal with Atlantic.  He was also featured on the MTV reality show called ‘Run’s House”.  The whole family is filled with talent as his older brother JoJo is also an up and coming rap star.                       

The Diggy Simmons mixtapes include “The First Flight” which he did in late 2009 and this may have led to the notice by Atlantic.  Just like Wiz Khalifa,

he is using social media such as Facebook and Twitter to promote his mix tape.  He also says that Kayne West, Jay-Z, Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco have influenced him.  The mix tape is certainly worth checking out and will probably hear a lot more from this young rapper.

 The Diggy Simmons mixtape is some competition for his older brother. JoJo is still trying to make a name for himself while his 15 your brother just signed a record deal.  The brothers say that they are still really tight and they are not competition. Diggy also told people through his Twitter site that JoJo is a supporter and fans need to understand that they will not be competing with each other but help each other out.
